Architect.
She could not get enough of exploring Kars, where she was born and spent her childhood on her bicycle, and grew up dreaming of being in different lands under the same sky. After graduating from high school in Izmir and YTU Faculty of Architecture in Istanbul, she pursued her dreams and went to graduate school in Milan Polytechnic in Italy. In the three years in Milan, she gained the practice of cycling in the busy traffic of the city and cycling for everything in daily life. In the hustle and bustle of life in the construction business, when she returned to Turkey noticed that she were constantly postponed dreams, and decided to realize them by joining a bike festival in 2014with rental bicycle. This, opened a new way to dream. After the festival, she bought himself a city – tour bike and imagined her journeys with her bike and tried to find ways to realize her dreams. In 2016, she participated in the Granfondo Marmara Bicycle Race and entered a different discipline in cycling.
Seçil Zor says that the bike simplifies her life, consumes less as she moves with her own muscle power, and continues to run for NGO aid campaigns. For her, cycling, which reflects her own sense of freedom, sometimes means being alone or sometimes being free in the crowds. Despite the narrow stairs of her apartment in Kadikoy where she lives, she carries her two bicycles of the city – tour and road – race type three times up her shoulder. She thinks that her passion for being on the road feeds her with the curiosity of learning new things.
As an active member of the Women on Bicycle Initiative (WoBi), she believes that she creates awareness on every tour and dreams that one day she will live in a country that respects and understands pedestrians and cyclists.
