Women from the seven regions of Turkey who use bicycles in their daily lives narrate.

The “My Bicycle My City” film presents for the first time in Turkey the perspective of women only who own a bicycle and use it in their daily lives, their work, their social enviroment, their families and their relations. It is a documentary focusing on the connection between Turkish women, bicycles and city life.

The natural scenery of the film are the seven cities in the seven regions of Turkey, where the film was made by the Women on Bicycle Initiative with the support of the Facebook Community Leadership Program of 2018.

The Bicycle Guide for Women was created in order to reach more women to the effects of this cooperation, which started in 2015 and has grown and developed and touched the lives of many women.

For women, the guide contains information and experience that facilitates cycling in everyday life, including many points of interest and information on what to consider when buying a bicycle, before setting off on a bike, setting a route, what to do when you are cycling in traffic, and what you need to do when it comes to cycling.

The Facebook Community Leadership Program (FCLP), which aims to the social empowerment by bringing the world closer together is taking place in 46 countries and gathered the leaders of 115 social movements. The Women on Bicycle Initiative from Turkey has the distinction of being the sole bicycle-related movement chosen for the program.

The Women on Bicycle Initiative has, through the support received by the FCLP, organized actions in chosen cities in seven regions, under the name My Bicycle My City, where women can meet and share stories and inspiration on how to succeed.
These actions will contribute to more women getting to involve the bicycle in their daily lives, by helping them to find practical solutions and overcome obstacles.
