At the global cycling summit, we presented “Visibility and Solidarity Among Women in Turkey” and had a full week of about the City of the future(s)<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

It was so inspiring and fruitful to be a part of Velo-City international cycling conference series which was in Dublin, Ireland from the 25th to the 28th June 2019.\u00a0Zeynep <\/strong>Arapo\u011flu and Se\u00e7il \u00d6znur <\/strong>Yakan\u00a0attended the conference on behalf of WoBi <\/strong>and below you can find a summary of the week from our side.<\/strong>
\n\u200bThe Velo-City conference is the European Cyclists\u2019 Federation<\/strong> (ECF) annual global cycling summit organised by the ECF and selected host cities. The Velo-City conference is the world\u2019s largest conference in the area of cycling, cycling infrastructure, bicycle innovations, bicycle safety, and the social and cultural changes driven by cycling on a global scale. The theme for Velo-City 2019 Dublin is\u00a0Cycling for the Ages<\/strong>. This theme focuses on encouraging cycling by people of all ages and abilities, young and old, male and female as part of their daily transport and recreation.<\/p>\n

Se\u00e7il \u00d6znur <\/strong>Yakan made a presentation at the “Session 4F – Overcoming Imbalances: How to make cycling inclusive for all<\/a><\/strong>?” with\u00a0Giulia <\/strong>Grigoli from Women on Wheels Dublin<\/strong> and\u00a0Priscilla <\/strong>Dutra Dias Viola from Montreal University<\/strong>. The questions, comments, feedbacks during and after the session showed us collaborations for more projects are on the way. Here you can find the presentation of WoBi<\/a> and all other speakers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WoBi made some video recordings during the conference with women who work in different countries and organizations related to cycling, walking, mobility. At our youtube channel you can see them<\/a>:

Trapeze Frame, bi-weekly radio programme<\/strong> of WoBi is recorded\u00a0at the speaker ready room just after the closing session of the conference. Zeynep<\/strong> Arapo\u011flu, P\u0131nar<\/strong> Pinzuti and Se\u00e7il \u00d6znur<\/strong> Yakan made a nice chat about the conference. Trapeze Frame\u00a0is prepared and presented by two women on bicycle Se\u00e7il Zor and Zeynep Arapo\u011flu.\u00a0It is broadcasted on Tuesday evenings at\u00a019:00\u00a0(GMT+3).\u00a0During the programme, women cyclists take the word\u00a0and share their own experiences of bicycle\u00a0and\u00a0cycling life.
